【摘要】:Withthecommonoccurrenceinwateroforganiccompounds,someofwhicharetoxic,itisoftennecessarytoidentifythespecificcompoundspresentandtodeterminetheconcentration.1.1Thisguidecoverstheidentificationandquantitationoforganiccompoundsbygaschromatography/massspectrometry(GC-MS)(electronimpact)thatarepresentorextractedfromwaterandarecapableofpassingthroughagaschromatographwithoutalteration.Theguideisintendedprimarilyforsolutionsforwhich1ngormoreofanycomponentofinterestcanbeintroducedontoagaschromatographiccolumn.Thisguidehastheadvantageofprovidingtentativeidentificationsofvolatileandsemi-volatileorganics,butisrestrictedto(a)compoundsforwhichreferencespectracanbeobtainedand(b)compoundsthatcanbeseparatedbygaschromatography(GC).Theserestrictionsareimposedontheguide,butarenotalimitationofthetechnique.Theguideiswrittenfor,butnotrestrictedto,analysisusingautomateddataacquisitionandhandling.1.2GuidelineshavebeenincludedforquantitationusingASTMTestMethodsD3871,D3973,andotherGC-MSvolatile/semivolatileproceduresusedforenvironmentalanalysis.Adetectionamountof1ngcanonlybeconsideredapproximate.Theactualdetectionlimitsforeachcomponentmustbedeterminedineachlaboratory.Actualdetectionamountswillvarywiththecomplexityofthematrix,thekindandconditionoftheGC-MSsystem,thesamplepreparationtechniquechosen,andtheapplicationofcleanuptechniquestothesampleextract,ifany.Lowerlevelsofdetectioncanbeachievedusingmodernsensitiveinstrumentsorwithselectedionmonitoring(SIM).Todeterminetheinterlaboratorydetectionestimate(IDE)andtheinterlaboratoryquantitationestimate(IQE),followPracticesD6091andD6512.1.3Theguideisapplicabletotheidentificationofmanyorganicconstituentsofnaturalandtreatedwaters.Itincludesallmodesofsampleintroduction,includinginjectionoforganicextracts,directaqueousinjection,andpurgeandtraptechniques.1.4Theguideisapplicabletoeitherpackedorcapillarycolumngaschromatography,includingwide-borecapillarycolumns.Becauseoftheirgreatlyenhancedresolution,capillarycolumnsarestronglyrecommended.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
